The second part of my story is my protagonist's performance. He uses an old artifact that warns of it's price, but he disregards it in pursuit of success. After a few magic tricks with unexpected results, the artifact reveals that it has a mind of it's own. He struggles to regain control of the wooden wand. People watch in awe as it takes over the performance. Finally, it raises above him, winds up, and taps the protagonist on the nose; transporting him to a different location.

I liked the idea of the outer layers of the first concept being shed to reveal his performance look. To me, it represents him showing a more vulnerable, inner part of himself. I wanted the artwork to continue the magical theme. There are logo inspired sigils on the sleeves, playing card graphics on the back bodice, and screen printed dove artwork on the shorts. In my trend research, I frequently came across bucket hats. I thought the bucket hat was a cute nod to a magician's hat.
